President Briefly Moved to White House Bunker

Due to protests that turned violent outside of the White House, the decision came out of an abundance of caution.

With ongoing unrest around the nation following the death of George Floyd, and with a large protest outside the White House over the weekend, the Secret Service moved President Donald Trump to the White House bunker for about an hour as law enforcement worked to contain the protests outside. White House officials said that the president and first family were never in danger and that the decision was made out of an abundance of caution.

The Secret Service posted an official notice, “In an effort to ensure public safety, pedestrians and motorists are encouraged to avoid streets and parks near the White House complex.”

On Sunday, to aid National Guard Troops outside the White House, Department of Justice spokesperson Kerri Kupec said that personnel from the U.S. Marshals Service and the Drug Enforcement Administration were deployed as well.

Washington, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser ordered a curfew from 11 p.m. Sunday to 6 a.m. Monday.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For safety for President Trump and the first family.
  • For God to protect all law enforcement personnel and for all who seek to peaceably assemble and protest.
  • For God to be at work in the hearts of Americans and government leaders through this time.
  • For God’s perfect justice to prevail and for His truth to made clear
